 * Hi,
 * As WordPress has evolved into becoming more than just a blogging platform, its
   also now a CMS. I was wondering whether there is a plugin that capture’s data
   inputted by a user in a contact form and places it into a MySQL database which
   can then be downloaded by the admin user as a CSV file.
 * Is there any like this available for WordPress, or is this something that I’m
   more likely to find in advanced CMS specific solutions.
 * Thanks
    Gary

 * Hi Gary,
    I’m looking for a similar feature. Came across this. Is that what you
   are looking for?

 * [MM Forms](http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/mm-forms/) can do exactly what
   you’re looking for. You can create and customize contact forms, and it can save
   the submitted data to a MySQL database. You can then view the data in the WP
   console as well as export to/save as CSV.

 * Hi ShannonWX,
    Does a CSV file open in in MS Excel? My client wants their form
   submissions to end up as Excel Spreadsheet.
 * Thanks!

 * Usually, yes! You can find some great information about opening CSV files in
   Excel [here](http://cas.sdss.org/dr7/en/help/howto/graph/open.asp). The only
   downside is that you might need to instruct your client on how to open CSV files
   in Excel, since a CSV file might not appear in Excel’s “Open” dialogue box by
   default.

 * ShannonWX – you have been able to get the MM Forms export function to work properly?
   I only get a 404 error – see here for details, if you care to help: [http://wordpress.org/support/topic/267860?replies=6#post-1342954](http://wordpress.org/support/topic/267860?replies=6#post-1342954)
 * Thanks!
