# Categories cannot be selected when adding an entry

 * Hello,
 * I setup 3 categories, they are correctly listed in the admin panel.
 * When entering a new add using the default template, there is an empty dropdown
   list for the categories, the 3 entered do not show up.
 * I deleted all tables and data as you tell on your website, uninstalled and reinstalled
   the plugin, same thing, no way to select the category!

 * Sorry that you ran into issues here!
 * Sounds like you might have a conflict on your hands–that drop down relies on 
   JavaScript and it’s possible there’s a page error making it load incorrectly.
   Have you tried a conflict test yet?

 * Thank you for your suggestion, it helped: The problem came from the “User Access
   Manager” plugin.

 * We changed the taxonomies setup for the “Directory” to NOT HIDE the empty categories
   of the directory, and now all looks normal 🙂
