# Categories missing

 * I have a few subdomain sites where the dashboard indicates there are categories
   configured, but when I go into the categories page non are shown. Obviously there
   has been some data corruption. How can I fix this?

 * Could it just be that you’ve no posts in the missing categories? It’s normal 
   behaviour for WordPress not to display categories in sidebar widgets if there
   are no posts in those categories. This is sensible, as it would be frustrating
   for a user to be offered a category to click on when it couldn’t lead to any 
   posts.

 * Hi,
    No, all the posts are associated with a category. I can also list them in
   other areas, they just don’t appear in the Categories setup page.
