Dumb but necessary question: Is the first item “All categories” not selected?
I could not reconstruct that case. The category selection works on my test server. I assume that another plugin or the theme of your website interferes with the hook ‘widget_posts_args’. That controls the set of displayed posts in the list. The plugin uses that hook.
I will change the name of the hook in the plugin to prevent such interferences.
With the new version 4.6.2 only posts of your selected categories should be displayed. If not I would take closer look to your website. Please mail me the login credentials to m dot stehle at gmx dot de.
When I use this widget on kingcomposer, or even when I use the widget out of kingcomposer, for example in wordpress footer, It shows posts from all categories even if I select specific category.
