category under title formatting

    I am trying to get the category inline with the date and author on the front page and under the post content on the single post page. I am having a few problems doing that. First, when I make changes to the margins, etc. for the post-cat it only applies properly to the first post and is slightly different for the rest. Then, when I go to the single post page the formatting is yet again different. As far as getting the category tag under the post content, I am completely lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I’ve attached a link above to the site I’m having trouble with so you can take a look.

    you seem to be making it more complicated by using a paragraph tag for the cateogries; also the css id will lead to invalid code if repeatedly used on the front page.

    what is your php code for outputting the date/time and categories?

    there is an example of how to create these post meata data outputs in the original Twenty Twelve (of which you are using a child theme).

    Try using Firefox with the Firebug add-on for this kind of CSS troubleshooting. Or whatever developer tool is available in your web browser.

    alchymyth: you were right that I was making it too complicated with the paragraph tags. simply removing them remedied the problem. Any recommendation on getting the category tag to be directly under the post content in the single post page while keeping it the same on the front page?

    as both outputs are done by content.php (at least in the unedited theme), you might need to use conditional statements to check for is_single() to differentiate between the outputs.
