 * I need to give a special outfit for a category, and some of the customisation
   would be done in the category.php, that doesn’t come by default with Mesocolumn.
 * Is there some model of a harmless category.php that I can use to add to the theme(
   child)?

 * Does it have an archive.php file? You can use that and customize for your category.

 * copy paste archive.php and rename it category.php to target category only.
