# Certificate Data

 * Good afternoon. I´m trying to design a certificate that will automatically insert
   the student´s name and current date and an ID number.
    I have inserted the codes:{{
   name}} COMPLETED ON {{date}} CERTIFICATE NUMBER: {{id}}
 * I´ve also tried it with a single { }. The result of the certificate appears just
   like this. The data fields are not inserted. Any help or recommendations would
   be appreciated. Thanks.

 * The certificate preview will not replace the variables. You need to check a real
   earned student’s certificate from the column “Students earned it”.

 * Thanks. I understand that. I had created a practice student, run through the 
   course and used the link to download the completion certificate. The variables
   were not replaced. However, 24 hours later, I went back to the same test student,
   ran through the course again, clicked on the link for the certificate, and the
   variables were replaced. I´m not sure what happened in the intervening 24 hours,
   but it´s working now. Thanks for such a prompt response.
