# CF7 Dropdown Issue

 * I already validated the form (by the tool provided – [https://contactform7.com/configuration-validator-faq/](https://contactform7.com/configuration-validator-faq/))
   but some fields on my form are not working anymore.
 * Updated the plugin but issue persists.
 * The below is what I originally had, and worked.
   Contact Preference:_ [select_*
   menu-977 “Phone” “Email” “No preference”]
 * But when saving the form, it gets updated as follows for some reason:
   Contact
   Preference:_ [select_* menu-977 \”Phone\” \”Email\” \”No preference\”]
 * So form is not rendered as it should. Used AI and made sure no duplicate names/
   IDs are used on the form, it also suggests the below. 
   **A JavaScript error**
   is breaking the CF7 rendering (likely due to broken markup or another plugin/
   theme conflict)

   anything that might be known and causing a conflict? And the theme is “Divi”.

 * Getting the same issue after updating contact form 7 from 6.0.6 to 6.1.

 * I rolled back Contact Form 7 from version 6.1 to 6.0.6, and the issue was resolved.
   It seems the problem was caused by a conflict between the new version of Contact
   Form 7 and the “CF7 Smart Grid Design Extension” plugin.
 * This quick fix may be helpful for others facing the same issue. Hopefully, it
   will be resolved in the next version of Contact Form 7.
