# Change admin email request

 * Hello everybody,
 * I have received an email of [donotreply@wordpress.com](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/change-admin-email-request/donotreply@wordpress.com?output_format=md)(
   when I have my website on wordpress.org) like this:
 * “Howdy harriup100,
 * You recently requested to have the administration email address on
    your site
   changed.
 * If this is correct, please click on the following link to change it:
    ________________(
   link to click)____________________________________ You can safely ignore and 
   delete this email if you do not want to take this action.”
 * The problem is that I’m the only administrator of the website and I haven’t requested
   anything. Can someone tell me what does this mean?

 * Are you sure the mail came from wordpress.**com**? If so, do as suggested and
   ignore and delete. Do not follow the link.
 * What probably happened is someone with a wordpress.com site tried to change their
   admin email, but entered their address incorrectly, entering yours instead. A
   similar message goes to both the old and new addresses, so whoever made the error
   will likely discover their error and try again, hopefully with the correct address
   this time.
