Change Image Location

Hello,
Great Plugin, very useful. I am trying to work on the template and change the image location. I have moved just the image into my own div and then have the content in it’s own div. However now the image is showing twice. How can I remove the image from the content like I removed the image? This is how I singled out the image:

$readable .= showexcerpt($items["mydesc"],'','','','',$adjustImageSize,'','',$items["myimage"],'');

I tried doing the same for the content area, just leaving out the image references but it still shows the image. Also can you show me where I could add a default image if there isn’t one to show?
