This would be based on how you set up your product.
If your product attributes are “Color” and “Size”, then you can make your variations a specific Color with the “any size” option. Then assign the appropriate thumbnail image.
Otherwise if you are making a unique variation for each possible color/size combination, you would need to apply the appropriate image to each.
Something like the Variation Swatches and Photos can also help make for an easier interface with this sort of thing:

Hi @mykhailokarhut. You can set images for each variation and have all the variations of a single color have the same image. I think that is the closest thing to what you want to achieve using default functionality. I don’t know of a plugin that allows you to set images for groups of variations, but it’s possible that there’s a third party one that exists that does this.
I have the product

My variations

I want to change images only when I click on colors
https://prnt.sc/ut01h0
I need to change photos accordingly to colors regardless of sizes
but I must choose also the size to change it.
How can I do it?

What you described and setup will work, as you can see here:

If you aren’t using any additional plugins, you would need to have a value specified for “Size” even if you aren’t using a different image for each size.
The plugin I mentioned previously (Variation Swatches and Photos) will allow you to do this. You can see a demo of that plugin here:

Hi there,
We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
Kind regards,
