 * Hello,
 * I was editing the settings under the “HTTPS” tab via my WordPress Dashboard and
   selected each of the following options:
 * –Always use HTTPS while in the admin panel. This setting is identical to FORCE_SSL_ADMIN.
 * –Any page that is not secured via Force SSL or URL Filters will be redirected
   to HTTP.
 * –Remove elements inaccessible over HTTPS. May break other plugins’ functionality.
 * This resulted in my dashboard and website homepage being displayed in HTML. And
   now, I cannot make any changes to that HTTPS tab. I can still access the tab,
   but none of the changes I make (such as deselecting the three above options)
   are sticking when I select “Save Changes”.
 * Is there any way to change these settings so that my dashboard and website are
   displayed normally again? I’m running WordPress 4.8.2 with the Divi theme, everything
   is up-to-date as far as I can tell.
 * Many thanks,
 * Alex

 * There is no “https” tab on the dashboard in WP core — are you using some plugin
   for this? _No plugins are necessary to run a WP site under SSL._

 * Steve,
 * Yes, the plugin is apparently “WordPress HTTPS”. I recently took over from a
   previous site admin so I wasn’t aware of it. Will simply deactivating this plugin
   solve the issues?

 * I don’t know if that will do it, but it’s a good place to start.
 * Here’s the right way to do SSL
 * 1. Install a certificate by whatever mechanisms are provided by your host.
    2.
   Use [this script](https://interconnectit.com/products/search-and-replace-for-wordpress-databases/)
   and change `http://example.com` to `https://example.com` 3. Delete the script.
   4. Delete cookies related to your site. 5. Stand back and admire your green padlock
