# Changing from HTTP to HTTPS

 * We have switched to WP last year and have been building the site over time. (
   our old one is going away soon) During this time we only had an IP address that
   we were building the site with. We also had the domain name but did not link 
   them till recently. When we did link them we realized that we needed and SSL.
   We got it and got it installed and then linked the domain name to the IP address.(
   we are using AWS for everything)
    Now that they are linked we are getting “Unsafe
   website” errors. I have searched and looked through the forums about converting
   all the http links to https. I’m sure the answer is somewhere in this forum, 
   but I cannot find it. I have seen the replies that say got to settings> General
   and under WordPress Address and Site address change the http to https. In our
   case those 2 fields contain the ip address and they will not let me change them.
   So, what am I doing wrong or what am I missing.

 * First, have your host install an SSL certificate. If SSL certificate is already
   installed, then set WordPress up to run under HTTPS following these steps:

    Thanks for the reply. Will be going over all your suggestions today and
   hoping I can get this cleared up. Have an issue with the first link you posted:

 * It comes up “Page Not Found”
 * All the others seem to work.
