    Hello all,
we have recently started using the Yoast plugin. It is actually very easy to use. My problem is when I make changes to a site e.g. meta description and then click on update it should be so that everything is adopted. This is not the case here, as soon as I go back to the site after the changes I see that nothing has been applied.
What am I doing wrong? Can you please help me?

    Greetings

    Hello,

Thanks for using the Yoast SEO plugin.

You mentioned that changes made like meta description do not get saved. We viewed the homepage source and here is the meta description:

<meta name="description" content="Ihr Beratungs- und Realisierungspartner für Digitalisierung. Durch unsere umfangreiche Projekterfahrung bieten wir Ihnen individuell auf die Bedürfnisse Ihres Unternehmens abgestimmte digitale Lösungen – basierend auf unserem Low-Code-Ansatz sowie best-in-class Software-Drittanbietern." />

Does this match what you entered or you expected something else?

    Hello,

thank you very much for the quick feedback. That was just an example with the meta description. I use this interface from Yoast to edit (see link https://images.app.goo.gl/MMkRoQnYb67s9QQC8). Once I enter everything and click on Update in the top right corner of WordPress and then go back to the site I see that all changes are back to the state before the changes.

Thanks for that screenshot! But it’s a bit confusing. Are you experiencing the problem on https://sysberry-absc.com/ or https://ceonaires.com/? You mentioned a different website but the screenshot shows another website.

Also, which ever website the issue is on, can you ensure you are running Yoast SEO 16.4 and WordPress 5.7.2?

    Hello,
sorry for the weighing we are the sysberry-absc.com. The screenshot was just an image from google search to give you a more detailed description of where I am making the changes.
I have just updated the Yoast Pluin from version 16.3 to version 16.4. My WordPress is on version 5.7.2. I tried to make changes again after updating Yoast. But unfortunately still the same problem the changes are not applied.

    Thanks for the feedback.

Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict, is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty.

Please test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

If you do not feel comfortable to do this yourself or if this does not solve your issue, our Yoast SEO Premium plugin comes with one year of (technical) support.

We are going ahead and mark this topic as resolved due to inactivity. If you require any further assistance, feel free to create a new topic. Thank you!

Hi, using verson 16.5 (updated automatically in WP), already noticed that all previously recorded meta (titles, descriotions) + also other SEO stuff are not any more available in WP interface (categories, posts edit etc.). I can still see them in html code, but they are missing in user inteface in WP admin. That makes Yoast plugin pretty much not usable, I guess…

    Thanks,
    Daniel
