I would like to be able to change the content of my emails that are in Woocommerce but would like to view them first, I have Brackets on my computer as well as XMAPP, but cannot get access to the webserver to actually see the emails and make the changes I would like to, is there a way I can see these emails before my web site goes live.

    Thanks
    Julie

    Hi there Julie!

I’m assuming you mean that your XAMPP server doesn’t actually let you send out test emails? I’ve had that problem as well, which is why I recently switched to Local by Flywheel. It’s a free service that lets you test out emails as well, even though it’s a local host.

(PS. no, I’m not affiliated, ha! 😉 )

    Hi!

Thanks for the info, I just want to view them before actually sending them out. I thought I had made the correct changes but I had to go register under a different user name to actually have an email send out. But I can try using Local by Flywheel.

LOL, I would never think that ! 🙂

    Hi @imazed

So I downloaded Local by Flywheel, as you suggested, too bad I didn’t know about this 2 months ago, before I set up my site. It was painful! Anyway, do I need to add all the files from my file manager in CPanel to my local drive? And then how exactly do I set and fix the emails?

Sorry for the questions, but I can’t seem to find documentation on this.

    Thanks
    Julie

    Hi @justbi10,

Thanks for your patience thus far.

do I need to add all the files from my file manager in CPanel to my local drive?

What I would actually do is create a full backup of your site using something like Updraft Plus and import it to your Local site.

And then how exactly do I set and fix the emails?

If you just want to change some text, you can do so with a plugin like Loco Translate, which allow you to find the text strings and change them to whatever you’d like.
Your other option (that doesn’t involve code) would be to use a third- party plugin to customize those emails. This article lists some options:
