# Changing permalink settings

 * Can I change my permalink settings for my blog posts to only affect only all 
   future posts? For example, I currently have the settings with date and post name.
   I want to change and remove the date from permalink without changing all prior
   posts. Is this possible? Thank you in advance.

 * Hi there,
 * from knowledge, that is not possible. So basically you want **/2014/post-name/**
   changed to **/post-name**. If you do make the change and I access /2014/post-
   name I will still be able to access the post (the url will auto change to the
   new permalink).

 * Thank you GeorgeDK,
 * That makes sense what you explained, however, my issue is with the share counts
   that are on my current url with date included. If I change permalink settings
   my share counts are reset back to zero. Perhaps this is a question I ought to
   ask Shareholic?
