# Changing Root Directory

 * Hello,
 * I have a word press blog up and running in a subdirectory of my main site and
   I’m very happy with it. So happy in fact, that I’d like to scrap the site I’ve
   had up and running for a while and move everything over to WordPress pages with
   the main blog page as my home page.
 * Currently the WordPress lurks in [http://www.mysite.com/wordpress](http://www.mysite.com/wordpress)
 * What do I need to change so that when anyone types in [http://www.mysite.com](http://www.mysite.com)
   they come straight to the front page of the blog? Are their any automated routines/
   plugins which will help me get there?
 * Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, but I couldn’t find it.

    Options See the two urls ? Change them to [http://www.mysite.com](http://www.mysite.com)
   Logout Move all the files Login
 * All there is to it 🙂
 * (Note: do not have a trailing slash as in .com/
    or use index.php as in .com/
   index.php Both those will break things)
