 * I wanted to find out whether or not I can change WP script or let’s say to remove
   some links in the admin area???

 * If you know what you’re doing when editing the WordPress source, of course you
   can. I would, however, follow the source editor’s credo: Backup any files before
   editing them, and comment your changes for future reference (and future sanity).
