CHECK or validate attendance

Is it possible to add a check box or option to allow an attendee to confirm attendance.
ie:
Multisite Global options
Attendees – book event-
Circumstances may mean they fail to attend.
If they attend the event, we are required as a matter of compliance to log their attendance.If possible to allow the user to simply login and validate they are at the event (event starts at 6pm – they cannot validate before 5.30pm to ensure they are actually there in person)
This would save a whole separate process currently required to ensure attendance records for compliance.
