After creating a new store, the appearance of the orders page looks completely different from all the others I have created. I turned off all plugins except WooCommerce and changed the themes to default ones, but it didn’t help. Any ideas how I can fix this?

  • Hi @macreative,

After creating a new store, the appearance of the orders page looks completely different from all the others I have created. I turned off all plugins except WooCommerce and changed the themes to default ones, but it didn’t help. Any ideas how I can fix this?

I understand that you’re experiencing some differences in the appearance of your new store’s orders page compared to your previous ones. You’ve also mentioned that you’ve tried disabling all plugins except WooCommerce and changing themes to the default ones, but this hasn’t resolved the issue. I appreciate your efforts in troubleshooting.

From the screenshots you provided, it seems like the previous checkout page (https://ibb.co/ZT33p3b) was generated using the [woocommerce_checkout] Shortcode block, while the current one (https://ibb.co/P41qQBW) appears to be using the Checkout Block.

The difference in appearance is due to an update starting from WooCommerce version 8.3, where the Cart and Checkout Blocks have become the default for new installations. These blocks are part of a ground-up rebuild of the checkout flow, based on industry best practices that offer conversion-optimized features and a simplified shopper flow. With easy customization options, you can maintain your brand identity and provide a visually appealing and consistent checkout journey for your customers. You can learn more about these new features here: 👉 Woo Block-Based Checkout Experience.

If you prefer the old checkout page style, you can revert to using the [woocommerce_checkout] Shortcode. However, we highly recommend using the new Cart and Checkout Blocks due to their enhanced features and improved user experience.

Here’s how you can revert to the old style:

    1. Using a block theme: Go to Appearance -> Editor -> Pages -> Select Cart or Checkout -> click the Edit icon
Using a non-block theme: Go to Pages -> All Pages, and then locate and edit the Cart/Checkout page.
    2. Open the List View and select the Cart or Checkout block.
    3. Open the Block Transform menu as seen above.
    4. Choose “Classic Shortcode”.
    5. The block will be transformed into a Classic Shortcode placeholder block.
    6. Save your changes by clicking the Update button in the top bar.

For more information on reverting to shortcode methods, you can check out this guide: 👉 Reverting to the Cart and Checkout shortcodes.

I hope this clarifies your concern. If you have any other questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to ask.
