# Child theme php issue

 * I tried to modify functions.php, so I copy this template file to my child theme
   folder. Then my site displayed as blank even though I did not do any change to
   the template.
 * However, I copied footer.php to child theme folder the it worked.
 * The site is [http://www.quantlego.com](http://www.quantlego.com).
 * Can you tell why functions.php cannot be copied into child theme folder?
