 * Hi all,
 * Using the most updated version of WordPress and getting constant (maybe 10-20%)
   HTTP 500 internal server errors on both the blog backend as well as front pages.
   This is not occurring anywhere else on the site, so it’s easy to assume there
   is some issue with wordpress.
 * Error text is as follows:
 * Server error
    The website encountered an error while retrieving [http://XXX](http://XXX).
   It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly. Here are some suggestions:
   Reload this webpage later. HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected
   condition was encountered while the server was attempting to fulfill the request.
 * Any ideas on where to start troubleshooting?
 * Thanks in advance!

 * What’s the URL to your site? Intermittent 500 error messages can happen for lots
   of reasons often plugin or theme related.
 * Also have you tried the usual troubleshooting steps?
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause
   problems.
 * – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a **fresh** download
   of WordPress.
