 * The tutorials are maddening. Every tutorial has another tutorial that must be
read to fully understand and integrate the lessons of the tutorial being reviewed.
The end result is a squirrel chasing its tail. Many of the tutorials are based
upon prior versions of the plugin and provide examples which may or may not apply
depending upon your eventual setup of the global settings. Incredibly frustrating.
 * Their basic tutorial on creating your “First Custom PDF” is not workable. The
very Form and very template given to upload do not properly work and display.
Everywhere throughout this website one has to fill in gaps to figure out the
product and how it works. Luckily, I have plenty of Snickers bars.

 * Thank you for taking the time to review Gravity PDF.
 * [For the latest v5 documentation](https://docs.gravitypdf.com/v5/developer-first-custom-pdf)(
the current major version at the time of this review), we’ve attempted to write
the development documentation tutorials so you can get the essential knowledge
needed up front, and provide contextual links to read more in-depth information
should you choose to. The four-part development documentation tutorial is meant
to build on top of the knowledge gained in the previous tutorial, but there’s
always room for improvement and so if you’ve any specific pages/sections that
are unclear, or you feel should be improved somehow please provide a link to
the specific page(s)/section(s) with a brief note about what you feel needs more
   polish.
 * I regularly review the documentation in my support role, and I’m not currently
aware of any out-of-date information in the most current version of the docs (
note: v3 and v4 documentation is archived and accessible for users who need it,
with a big warning displayed at the top of those pages to signify that it’s out
of date). Could you please elaborate what isn’t workable in the tutorial “[First Custom PDF](https://docs.gravitypdf.com/v5/developer-first-custom-pdf#template-tutorial--part-1)”
you referenced? At this point in the tutorial we don’t actually provide a Gravity
Form to download, as the PDF template is generic and can be used on any form.
It’s not until Part 2 that we provide a form to import, and I’ve personally verified
both the form (where applicable) and PDF template in all tutorial parts function
   as expected.
 * Gravity PDF is very powerful software, and you can do a lot with custom templates.
Do we cover every use-case in the documentation and provide a tutorial for each
one? No. The goal of the developer documentation is to give developers with existing
knowledge of WordPress development the fundamental tools they need to bring their
Gravity Forms PDF project to life with custom templates. The documentation is
written and framed in that manner. This very old adage comes to mind when I think
of the dev docs purpose: “Give a Man a Fish, and You Feed Him for a Day. Teach
a Man To Fish, and You Feed Him for a Lifetime”.
