    Hey there,

I recently tried to clean up my WordPress install in the hope to speed things up. So I used two plugins “Advanced Database cleaner” and “Plugin Garbage Collector”.

I Have 5 sites running on My self hosted multisite install. After activating and running the plugins I found that the network site which has all my site Urls was not accessible.

Hence I rolled up to my backup and things are fine now.

As I mentioned that the sites broke and had issues. So I restored a backup, this backup method worked for me on a single WordPress install but not on multisite.

I do wish to remove garbage data from my site, do let me know how can this be done on a multisite setup.

    Thanks.

Do you know which plugin’s actions broke your site? I recommend you seek assistance through the respective plugin’s dedicated support forum.

It’s not clear if garbage collector is multisite compatible, but the database cleaner is supposed to be.

If all else fails, maybe you could try cleaning the DB again, then do a partial restoration from backup of just the blogs and site tables. Assuming the problem was in these tables. You may need to restore one or more options tables as well to regain access.

You should want to clone the entire site to a staging server or something to experiment on without impacting your production sites.
