 * Hi,
 * I have a small WordPress hosting company.
 * I think about installing the Wordfence plugin by default on the all new clients’
   websites.
 * Two questions.
 * Is it possible to configure plugin from the CLI level (for my email address)?
 * Does the plug protect against XMLRPC attacks?

 * Hi [@k83uhse6v](https://wordpress.org/support/users/k83uhse6v/)
 * We don’t have any functionality compatibility for CLI currently.
 * Instead, you can use the Wordfence Central tool to be able to create settings
   templates to be able to push out to multiple sites. Please see our guides below:
 * [https://www.wordfence.com/help/central/](https://www.wordfence.com/help/central/)
 * The brute force login attack protection rules, found in the **_Brute Force Protection_**
   section on the **_All Options_** page, protect the XML-RPC interface in the same
   way as the login page. Our recommended settings are below:
 * [https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/brute-force/](https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/brute-force/)
 * There are also two additional XML-RPC interface options found under the **_Login
   Security_** >> **_Settings_** page:
 * [https://www.wordfence.com/help/login-security/](https://www.wordfence.com/help/login-security/)

 * Thank you for your answer, wfphil.
 * But to full activate the plugin, I have to log into the WordPress dashboard?
   Only activating the plugin is not enough to work, right?
 * We install a lot of WordPress, that is why manual plugin registration is not
   an option for us.

 * Hi [@k83uhse6v](https://wordpress.org/support/users/k83uhse6v/)
 * That is correct that you must complete the plugin installation within the WordPress
   administration area.
