   id = “main” class = “site-main clr” role = “main”> “.

 * Hi [@starflyte](https://wordpress.org/support/users/starflyte/)
 * If you want to improve your CLS, then you need to make the slider to not change
   in height once it is loaded.
    For that you need to:
    - avoid the JavaScript based layouts like the Full width or Full page, as those
      may increase the height of the slider depending on the screen width or screen
      height.
    - make sure your content won’t increase the height of the slider
 * Actually we have a documentation, where we gathered more information about this
   topic. Here you can find it:
    [https://smartslider.helpscoutdocs.com/article/2009-cumulative-layout-shift-cls](https://smartslider.helpscoutdocs.com/article/2009-cumulative-layout-shift-cls)
 * Best regards,
    Laszlo.

 * Thanks for the reply.
 * I have tried to set it as indicated. Regarding: “make sure your content doesn’t
   increase the cursor height” what should do I?

 * Hi [@starflyte](https://wordpress.org/support/users/starflyte/)!
 * That sentence was rather about the height of the slider, not the height of the
   cursor:
    “make sure your content won’t increase the height of the slider”
 * It is about this part of our documentation:
    [https://smartslider.helpscoutdocs.com/article/2009-cumulative-layout-shift-cls#too-many-or-too-high-layers](https://smartslider.helpscoutdocs.com/article/2009-cumulative-layout-shift-cls#too-many-or-too-high-layers)
   that we have a rule within our slider, that a slide’s minimum height is the height
   of your layers, margins and paddings. If you have many layers or bigger margins/
   paddings, that can make your slide’s height bigger too. This is what you should
   avoid, so if you have for example 500px slider size – height: [https://smartslider.helpscoutdocs.com/article/1774-slider-settings-size](https://smartslider.helpscoutdocs.com/article/1774-slider-settings-size)
   don’t put down more contents, than which can fit into this 500px height.
