CMS Functionality

Hi,

I’ve used WP for blogs but now I’d like to add some CMS functionality. For example, I’d like to create a contact form to allow users to add their contact info to the database – a Contacts table. There might also be an Events table. An Admin would be able view & edit this data.

Is this something I can do with Custom Post Types or do I need to completely code my own forms, SQL etc.
