# Code a graphic designed template

 * I searched the forum for this answer but did not come up with anything, sorry
   if it is redundant.
 * If I go the route of having a graphic designer design my WP theme, then have 
   it coded, am I asking trouble or is this fairly easy and straightforward? Dealing
   with 2.8 compatibility issues, and cross browser functionality, etc makes me 
   think that I should probably stick with a pre-coded theme. However, I am in a
   super narrow niche and would really like to get a custom design by a graphic 
   designer.

 * .. then dont go to a _graphic designer_.
 * the long of it is that wordpress is a cash cow, and everyone wants a piece. especially
   so-called designers, that DONT know a lick of PHP, most of them cant even install
   wordpress, much less write a functioning theme for it, and goid forbid – you 
   ever need help with something after they’re supposedly done.
 * need proof of this? look at the craigslist ads by these same types of “designers”
   that are looking for REAL developers to outsource their work to. (at a cheaper
   rate than ANY php coder is worth, I might add).
 * heres some tips:
 * look at their portfolio – are there PHP based sites included in it? Any database
   driven sites? Do the live sites validate?
