 * I’m getting this code where the meta description usually is only through text
   message. Here’s a screenshot of it. [https://d.pr/i/SoO7ok/ZpIYQHWrGc](https://d.pr/i/SoO7ok/ZpIYQHWrGc)
 * How can I fix this ?

 * [@shopstonedqueen](https://wordpress.org/support/users/shopstonedqueen/) We’re
   sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue on your site.
 * We checked on your site in both the source code of the home page and in a Google
   search, but weren’t seeing this issue of a shortcode being output in the meta
   description. Is this issue only occurring on specific pages? If so, can you please
   provide us with an example URL so that we can check into this further?
 * Also, can you please confirm you are using the most recent version of Yoast SEO,
   version 15.6.2? You can learn more about updating here: [https://yoast.com/help/how-can-i-update-my-free-plugin/](https://yoast.com/help/how-can-i-update-my-free-plugin/)
 * In addition, can you confirm you are using WordPress 5.6? You can check by clicking
   on the W in the top left and selecting About. If you need to update, please check
   with your host provider. Please know that if you are using an older version of
   WordPress Core you may experience unexpected behavior with Yoast. This guide
   explains more: [https://yoast.com/why-we-dont-support-old-wordpress-versions/](https://yoast.com/why-we-dont-support-old-wordpress-versions/)
 * If you update to the most current version of WordPress and Yoast SEO, does this
   resolve the issue?
 * If after ensuring that both WordPress, Yoast SEO, and your other plugins and
   themes are up to date the issue is still occurring, we’d next recommend performing
   a conflicting check to see whether another plugin or theme is interfering with
   the Yoast SEO Plugin. This will help us narrow down the exact cause and determine
   what the next steps are while saving you time.
 * The fastest way to do this is to **deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch
   to a standard theme** like [Twenty Nineteen](https://wordpress.org/themes/twentynineteen/).
   Test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend
   using the [Health Check & Troubleshooting](https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/)
   plugin. This plugin allows you to run a conflict check **without affecting normal
   visitors to your site**.
 * If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a
   step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: [How to check for plugin conflicts](https://yoast.com/help/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts/).

 * Confirmed that they’re updated. It only happens when sending a text message to
   someone, nowhere else.

 * Hi,
 * We looked at the homepage here [https://shopstonedqueen.com/?v=7516fd43adaa](https://shopstonedqueen.com/?v=7516fd43adaa)
   and we can see there is unexpected text in the title field. See image: [https://ibb.co/K6wZt0b](https://ibb.co/K6wZt0b).
 * We are not sure if a full conflict check was done but we ask that you please
   try the following:
 * 1. Are all your non-Yoast plugins and themes also updated?
 * 2. If all are updated, it sounds like a plugin or theme conflict. Please [Check for conflicts](https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts).
   Install the Healthcheck plugin and enable troubleshooting. Then switch to a standard
   theme like 2021. Does the issue resolve? NOTE: This will not affect how users
   see your site.
 * Then inspect the source code for that <title tag. This guide explains more about
   how to do that: [https://yoast.com/help/view-page-source-site/](https://yoast.com/help/view-page-source-site/)
 * If there is a conflict with a plugin or a theme, you can create a [new GitHub issue](https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/new)
   for our developers. Please report the issue to a third party developer as well.

 * Okay I downloaded healthcheck and checked the source code but I don’t understand
   the healthcheck to know what the problem is or what to do about it. If I change
   the theme won’t it mess up all my information ?

 * Hi [@shopstonedqueen](https://wordpress.org/support/users/shopstonedqueen/),
 * We haven’t heard of an issue like this from other users. Can you let us know
   what messaging app you’re using?
 * The Health Check plugin has a Troubleshooting mode that lets you deactivate plugins
   and change themes without making any permanent changes to your site. This means
   that only you will be able to see any of these changes while troubleshooting
   mode is on.
 * We’d like you to check the [page source](https://yoast.com/help/view-page-source-site/)
   while only the Yoast SEO plugin is activated to see if the extra information
   is in the <title> or og:title.
 * We have step-by-step instructions on how to use Health Check to deactivate plugins
   and change the themes in this guide: [How to check for conflicts](https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts).
 * Let us know the results or if you get stuck on a specific step.

 * We are sorry to hear that you’re having trouble following the conflict check
   guide. We do have a step by step [video tutorial](https://youtu.be/lg7OqBY2fAA)
   as well. Can you please try to perform the conflict check by following the steps
   given in the relevant video tutorial to see whether you can complete the conflict
   check?
