 * What could you say…
 * When you see the updates (I call them – patches) to plugin coming rapidly, almost
   daily – sub-minor version comes next day after minor release – and when you read
   a ChangeLog and you see that they are fixing glitches, introduced just a day
   ago. You start asking yourself – how come that plugin, one of the MUST HAVES,
   is having such a poor quality control?
 * Like – is there anybody even testing the code before pushing it to WordPress
   repository?
 * And then this banner came.
 * And – you could have guessed it – that banner got a bug: it can not be dismissed.
   Or it could be, but then he reappears again, on a next page.
 * It’s like – wow, who controls this plugin anymore?
 * So…
 * Once I find an alternative which code is more trusted, I am switching.
 * Enough is enough.

 * [@mick-levin](https://wordpress.org/support/users/mick-levin/) You should check
   out Rank Math. A free plugin, tons of functionalities, quality code. (Not associated
   or affiliated with them in any way. Just a happy user)

 * Hi [@mick-levin](https://wordpress.org/support/users/mick-levin/),
 * Thanks for your comment.
 * You should no longer see the Black Friday banner in the backend. That said, we
   understand that the banner was annoying. Although it was dismissable, it was
   a bit buggy (the [x] close icon didn’t work as expected) so last Thursday we
   released Yoast SEO v12.6.2 which completely removes the banner from the admin
   panel.
 * We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. You can also find our
   public apologies on social media through [this link](https://twitter.com/MariekeRakt/status/1200077958700044290).
 * As for the frequent updates, at Yoast we’re a fan of the software engineering
   approach called [continuous delivery](https://developer.yoast.com/continuous-delivery-at-yoast/).
   Continuous delivery means that the software teams create and release software
   in short cycles. At any given time, the software should be stable enough to be
   released.
 * Our current software process is as close to continuous delivery for WordPress
   plugins can get. This is important, as this will result in fewer bugs, more focus,
   and more collaboration. For example, one of the benefits is that if something
   goes wrong, we can fix it quickly and release the fix within a couple of hours
   to a couple of days. This is because the developers know exactly what they worked
   on the past two weeks.
