 * Is it true that it is better to install the plugin than to place a snippet? Because
   the snipet will be executed on each load, but in this case this plugin function
   is saved in the database, avoiding extra queries on each load?

 * You can just add the snippet to your functions.php if you don’t want the bloat
   of another plugin. the only reason to go for the plugin, is that you don’t need
   to update the code yourself if WordPress would make a change that breaks the 
   functionality.
