I dont know how to use collapse mode in tablepress.

I install everything ( responsive Tables Extension 1.3 ), change shortcode from [table id=1 /] to [table id=1 responsive=collapse /] and it shows me in the table “+”/”-” instead of the spoiler. I changed the shortcode in the page where the table is, maybe i should change it somewhere else?

Should i enter these codes ( “+”/”-” ) before the sentences or after ?

Please give me an example, i dont know what im doing wrong.

Is it something like this “+”bla bla bla”-” or “+”/bla bla bla/”-” or something

    Tnx in advance.

    Regards,
    Nemanja

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

You should not need any further modifications.
Can you please post a link to the page with the table where this problem happens, so that I can take a direct look? Thanks!

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi,

you don’t need to add any such signs.
Instead, you will have to check the “Table Head Row” checkbox and then also enable the use of the DataTables JS library. The Extension will then do the rest. However, I don’t think that it will be that useful for this table with just two columns.

    Hi,

I’m afraid that what you want is not what the collapse mode of the Responsive Tables Extension offers. It would only hide data from columns that don’t fit on the screen (e.g. on a phone).
You however want to always hide certain information. For that, you could look into using the very similar Extension that is explained at https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/how-to-expand-tablepress-row/

That will however only add a +/- symbol in the first cell of each row. To have those in any arbitrary cell, you would have to apply a manual approach like what I explain in the example at https://tobias.baethge.com/2009/07/expandhide-accordion-feature-explained/

    Hi,

that’s not really possible with this Extension, I’m afraid, sorry. For that, you would need the custom solution from my second link.

    Tobias
