# Colon in https:// is removed

 * I’m trying to make a simple snippet of text, a url. I’m finding when I add the
   shortcode for the snippet to a social icon e.g. Facebook, the colon out of the
   url is removed therefore the icon doesn’t work. If I simply add a shortcut widget
   and set it to the value of the snippet shortcut then yes, the colon is included.
   How should I make a snippet for a simple url in a Social icon? Thanks
