# Column width inconsistent?

 * I am using this code:

   </u>**</div> <div style=”width: 65%; padding: 0 0 0 0; float: left;”>**<u>Title
   </u>**</div> <div class=”clear”></div>
 * But the width between the 2nd and 3rd columns is greater than that of the 1st
   and 2nd. Not sure why.

 * the impression comes from the content in the second div which is shorter than
   the available width;
    if you (temporarily) replace the ‘padding’ with ‘margin’
   and add a background color to each div, you will see clearly the size and distribution.

 * I used ems instead of % and removed the padding, and I see to have found a solution.
