# Column Width Problem

 * I’m very very new to this… just installed WordPress two days ago. I just made
   my first post in my blog at [http://www.joyfulabode.com](http://www.joyfulabode.com),
   and found out the center column can’t accommodate pictures that are 500px wide.
   I would like it to at least be able to handle 500, preferably 600.
 * I thought I found the place in the stylesheet to change the width of the columns,
   but when I saved it and refreshed my website, there was no change.
 * Any help for a newbie? Thanks!
 * Also, I would really like the left and right columns to be at about 150-160px
   wide…

 * You better try to find a theme that is doing what you want; I mean has the proper
   width (or fluid layout) to accomodate your needs.

 * So do you mean the layout I chose won’t let me adjust the width at all??
 * I really don’t want to switch, because other than that it seems pretty perfect.
 * I edited the images so they fit, but I’d still like any input anyone has about
   changing the width of the center column.

 * Well, it is not perfect if you have to change it 🙂
    Of course, you can change
   the width… the problem is: if you have to ask how to do it – then it’s difficult.
