# Columns Block Alignment

 * Hi,
 * when inserting a columns block, two columns, left column includes a paragraph
   block, right column an image block, the contents of both columns do not align
   at the top. The text/paragraph block appears higher than the image block.
 * No settings are applied to either block and there is no CSS.
 * In guttenburg editor all looks good, when I preview it doesn’t.

 * I cannot be more specific without a live link to the page in question.
 * Be sure you’ve selected align-top for the text’s vertical alignment, I think 
   the default might be middle.
 * If the alignment with the image’s top is still unsuitable, it’s likely due the
   CSS applied by your theme. There are likely margin-top and/or padding-top properties
   being applied that keep the text from being as high up as you wish. You can override
   the theme CSS through the Additional CSS customizer section, perhaps by setting
   the margin or padding top properties to `0`.
 * Doing so could adversely affect other text elsewhere. You may want to assign 
   a custom class or ID to the specific element and create CSS that only applies
   to that custom attribute.

 * Hi,
 * thanks for the info. I switched the the twenty twenty theme and everything aligns
   fine so I think its my choice of theme that is causing the problem. I have written
   to them. If they cannot fix it I will come back to you.
