• I just updated my theme (Amazing Grace) because the columns would not line up correctly and the “Search” graphic was displayed in the wrong place, blocking some text. Initially, the change worked. However, starting yesterday, the right side column now lines up underneath the left-side column, leading to one very long column. I didn’t change any code. Does anybody have any idea why the columns no longer line up the way they are supposed to and, more importantly, how to fix this?

  • Do you by chance have an oversized image or embedded video that is wider than the content area, that might be breaking your layout?

(Can you link to the site in question?)

Hi Chip. No, I don’t. Here is the URL: http://www.miketully.net/blog.

    Thanks,

I don’t see the problem. Both sidebar columns render to the right of the content, one next to the other, when I view the site.

Thanks, Chip. I just loaded the page and the right column is displayed to the right, but far down the screen, after the bottom of the left side column. Obviously, I’d prefer it to be displayed at the top of the screen. Please let me know what browser you are using. I’m currently viewing it at work, using IE 7.0.

It looks fine for me under Chrome, in both Windows and Linux, at a screen resolution down to at least 1200px.

Thanks again, Chip. I guess that’s good news. I’ll see if I can figure out why I’m getting a messed-up display here. Thanks for taking the time.
