  • LOL. I’m sorry I don’t have any solutions but damn, those guys are certainly thorough.
On a serious note, I guess it would be time to determine if “disabling comments” simply removes the form from the page or if it actually disables the code that writes comments. You can test by passing the parameters directly to the php that’s in the “action” attribute of the comment form. Good luck.

If what you did to disable comment is just unchecking the enable comment in discussion options in admin panel, that will just set the default for future post to disable comments.
To disable comments for already published posts, you need to edit and disable comment for each individual post.

    …Above post is mine
Also there is a plugin that will close comment after certain period of time after it’s published, if you’re interested search for it.

Hey guys. This is the post I’ve been looking for.

I haven’t installed WordPress yet. I was wondering if I’d be able to disable the comment feature. The plan is to have a blog that no one can comment on. From what I’ve read here, it seems possible but how difficult is it?

It’s easy. Under Options/Discussion there is a box that says “Allow People to post comments on the article.” Uncheck the box. No comments will be allowed on future posts, unless you manually override the post options.

    Right on man. Thanks.
