# Comments ERROR: Users getting locked out

 * Hi,
    In the last couple of weeks my readers have been unable to comment on my
   blog posts. There has never been an issue in the past. I have it set up so you
   can comment via logging in to WP or via an email address.
 * Those logging in via WP say they are received a ‘locked out’ notice from wordpress.
   
   On occasions I am receiving an email stating ‘a lockdown event has occurred due
   to too many failed login attempts or invalid username’.
 * Those logging in via email address read: Error, there is no account with this
   email address.
    (they have assured me there is.)
 * I can’t understand what’s happened?
 * I’m self hosted and use the Novablog child theme. I’ve ensured all my plugins
   and updates are up to date.
    The only plugin I have installed in recent months
   was mailchimp.
 * I’d appreciate ANY help and advice please!

 * What plugin(s) are you using to secure your site? One of theme is the root of
   this.

 * I have Wordfence Security, All in one WP security and Akiskmet anti spam.

 * Try disabling WordFence and AIO WP Security. If that fixes it, then turn one 
   back on to see which is causing your issue.
