# Comments URL is wrong

 * When I change the permalink option to use this format :
    /%year%/%monthnum%/%
   day%/%hour%/%minute%/ and set the recommended mod_rewrite in my .htaccess, the
   entries are accessed with the expected URL but the comments section does not 
   show up. For comments to show, I need to add the query string “?p=1”. See link
   with NO comments section: [http://www.kangolog.com/fr/2004/12/09/10/03/#comments](http://www.kangolog.com/fr/2004/12/09/10/03/#comments)
   And the link that shows the comments section: [http://www.kangolog.com/fr/2004/12/09/10/03/?p=1#comments](http://www.kangolog.com/fr/2004/12/09/10/03/?p=1#comments)
   How is ?p=1 supposed to get inserted there? Is something wrong in my permalink
   definition ?

 * In case it is confusing in my question, the root is accessible at:

   and the links to entries that are displayed in this page lead to pages that do
   not show comments.

 * Hm… yes, using this works:
    /archives/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/ This
   seems like a bug to me, could it be? For Kafka, the 10/03 was for hour/minute.

 * Ah, that makes sense. And no, not a bug, since pointing to
    _/year/month/day/
   hour/minute/_ doesn’t provide WordPress with a specific post to call. However,_/
   year/month/day/hour/minute/post\_id/_ or _/year/month/day/hour/minute/postname/_
   would do it.

 * Ok, thanks for the info. From a DB key stand point, this makes perfect sense.
   
   I guess that someone could add this to the documentation on the permalink options
   page. Something like: `you must terminate your permalink URL format with either"
   post_id" or "postname"`
