# Comments will not disable

 * Hi,
 * I am working with the child Path theme and I added and edited a new page. Somehow
   the comments are not disabled. The screen options show that the ‘comments’ box
   is unchecked. My other pages don’t show comments but have similar settings as
   my new page.
 * I disabled all the plugins, but even then the comments won’t go away. I don’t
   know where it is going wrong now. Is there something I overlooked somewhere?

 * No, not that I know of. The only plugin I installed is Huge IT Lightbox and I

 * I activated twenty fourteen, and it has the same problem. So it is not theme 
   specific. That is already good to know

 * try clearing the cache in Firefox,options,advanced,network,uncheck manage cache,
   check clear the cache, ok, restart your pc

 * Hi,
 * Problem solved. I followed the link Andrew suggested and looked into the MySQL
   database with Phpmyadmin. At the posts section I found my ‘problem’ post. I edited
   this post and changed the ‘comment status’ to closed. And that solved the problem.
   Anyway it is weird that this isn’t updated within the CMS.
