 * Hello,
    Koko Analytics delivers completely abstruse statistics (see screenshot
   below). When I look at the statistics under pages (“Seiten”), I get about 90
   visitors and 90 page views.
 * Background: For maintenance reasons I had to deactivate the plugin for 2 days.
   Instead of wp_cron is deactivated, however, a real cron job was set up. All recommendations(
   deactivating and activating; Confirm settings) in the following thread
    ([https://wordpress.org/support/topic/problem-with-wp-cron-3/](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/problem-with-wp-cron-3/))
   were unfortunately without effect.

 * Hello [@hage](https://wordpress.org/support/users/hage/),
 * It looks like your website makes extensive use of category archives for the pages
   linked in your main menu. Koko Analytics will count any visit to these pages
   towards the total number of visitors and pageviews for your website (428 visitors,
   457 pageviews in the screenshot above) but not show them in the list of “Top
   Pages”.
   So I think the numbers are actually correct although that is not directly
   clear when you’re just looking at the “Top Pages” of your site in the Koko Analytics
   dashboard.We have plans on tracking individual views to category archives too
   but unfortunately this is not quite as simple due to how WordPress is structured
   in terms of post ID’s. I hope that clarifies a little.Best,Danny

 * Hi Danny,
    thanks for the quick answer. is there also no way to exclude the category
   archives for the pages? – the statistics worked a few days ago without such issues.
   Perhaps something was changed in the last update?
 * Best Regards,
    Hans-Gerd

 * Hi [@dvankooten](https://wordpress.org/support/users/dvankooten/)
    I’m not sure
   why the thread was marked as solved – maybe that happened to me. But the problem
   still exists. I have therefore changed the status back to not solved. BTW: we
   don’t have the problem with a very similar website for a different target group.
   The statistics work perfectly there. Best Regards, Hans-Gerd

 * Hello [@hage](https://wordpress.org/support/users/hage/),
 * I thought this was simply a misunderstanding that the statistics looked incorrect
   because the numbers in the “Top Pages” table did not add up to the numbers shown
   in the “Totals” component just above.
 * > the statistics worked a few days ago without such issues. Perhaps something
   > was changed in the last update?
 * But yes, this does sound weird and like there is an issue.
 * Can you explain why the statistics are incorrect and what they looked like before
   this started occurring?

 * Hi [@dvankooten](https://wordpress.org/support/users/dvankooten/),
    thank you
   for your answer. If I look at the screenshot below with the statistics on 20.12.2024
   and add up the visitors and page views, I aggree with a number similar to 925
   or 1036.
 * [⌊Screenshot Statistics⌉⌊Screenshot Statistics⌉[
 * However, if I look at yesterday’s statistics, the sum of visitors and page views
   can never be as high as they arr shown.
 * [⌊Screenshot Statistics⌉⌊Screenshot Statistics⌉[
 * I had also installed Burst a few days ago. The statistics were more realistic
   then.
 * Best Regards,
    Hans-Gerd

 * Hi [@hage](https://wordpress.org/support/users/hage/),
 * I am still not completely sure that the statistics are incorrect.
 * You can not simply add up the numbers from the **Top Pages** because this table
   only contains the pages and post on your site that are using a **post type** (
   ie: posts, pages + custom post types). If your website makes use of archive pages(
   like yours), then a lot of pages will be missing from this list while still being
   counted in the** Total visitors** and **Total pageviews** number at the top of
   your dashboard.
 * You could keep Burst Statistics running for a couple of days to compare the numbers.
   There will still be a discrepancy because of different tracking mechanisms though,
   but they should at least be in the same ballpark (if they also ignore bots and
   the like, which I don’t know).
   For what it’s worth: nothing changed in the last
   few versions that could have caused a wrong count and I have also not been able
   to replicate or spot this issue on my own sites running Koko Analytics, nor have
   I heard from any others. So my first thought right now is that the numbers you’re
   seeing are actually correct and can be trusted.
 * Best,
   Danny

 * Hi [@dvankooten](https://wordpress.org/support/users/dvankooten/)
    thanks for
   the reply and clarification.
 * I think I will continue to monitor this and install Burst if necessary to check
   the statistics of Koko Analytics. I also installed burst a few days ago and it
   showed me much lower numbers.
    As I said: For maintenance reasons I had to deactivate
   the plugin for 2 days and before that I also had lower numbers.
 * Thanks again and I’ll get back to you if I have any new information.
 * Best Regards,
    Hans-Gerd

 * Hi [@dvankooten](https://wordpress.org/support/users/dvankooten/)
    Just for information:
   I now have the impression that realistic statistics are displayed in any case.
   I mark the thread as solved. Thanks for the support.

 * Hi [@hage](https://wordpress.org/support/users/hage/),
 * Thank you for letting me know. In case you do suspect anything in the future,
   don’t hesitate to re-open and we’ll work from there. We’ll keep adding logging
   and monitoring the collection process to ensure no pageviews are going missing.
