    Hi Stefan,

You are right, the problem on your site is caused by the issue described in the article. Let me explain the situation with a little more detail:

    1. Complianz detects the Recaptcha script on your site, which requires prior consent in the EU/UK, or we have to provide the possibility to opt-out in the US/Canada. For more information, refer to this article.
    2. Elegant Themes has included several scripts into Divi, that depend on the recaptcha script. So when Complianz blocks this script (by setting it to text/plain), several functionalities on your site might break.
    3. When the visitor provides consent for marketing cookies (including Recaptcha), the script is activated (text/javascript). Though the Divi scripts have already caused the error.

There is nothing that we can do to circumvent the issue, besides not blocking the Recaptcha script. You can do this by deactivating the Recaptcha integration, as described in the article.

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards,
    Leon

    Hello Leon,
thank you for the reply. We’re in the EU so we need to comply with GDPR.
https://complianz.io/blocking-recaptcha-on-divi/ mentions that a ticket with Divi was raised. Is there any update from their side?

    Hi @roots84,

Unfortunately, they haven’t taken any action regarding this problem. IT could be helpful if you bring it to their attention as well. there is a good solution available as well: We work with Cookiebot and the WordPress privacy team on the WP consent API. If Divi would conform to this API, they can load scripts that require consent, based on consent level.

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards,
    Leon

    Thank you for checking.
Unfortunately we can’t raise a ticket with Divi as my customer doesn’t have support anymore. And since they didn’t respond to your ticket either they are probably not interested in fixing this anytime soon. We will look into another solution / workaround for this.

    Regards,
    Stefan
