# Composer error when updating plugin

 * Hello. I use Filebird version 5.1.1, however, when I try to update the plugin
   to version 5.1.2, I get the following error message on a white screen: Composer
   detected issues in your platform: Your Composer dependencies require a PHP version“
   >= 7.4.0”.
 * I use php 7.3. Does this mean that the plugin is not compatible with this version?
   I had to go back to version 5.1.1 to be able to reuse my site.
 * It’s the first time I have this kind of problem.

 * I’ve just performed a test on a 7.3 php staging version of my web site, which
   is not on my servers, but on BlogVault’s servers (a backup and staging service),
   and the error persists in the stagging. When I upload the Filebird 5.1.2 file
   and having activated it, the above mentioned error occurs as well.
 * I created a new staging version of my site on the BlogVault servers, this time
   in php version 7.4, and in this version, Filebird 5.1.2 could be successfully
   activated without any errors.
 * Does this mean Filebird no longer works on php 7.3 versions?

   for the issue that you are facing. Currently, Filebird 5.1.2 requires php version
   >= 7.4, but we are going to release new version fit with lower php version soon.

 * I was worried because I paid for filebird PRO version so I was scared. But as
   you said that a new version will be released that is compatible with previous
   versions of php, I will be waiting. Thank you!
