 * Hi,
    If you want to use your own text editor to compose your posts (I use Emacs),
   how does that generally work? Do you have to cut and paste back and forth between
   your text editor and the WordPress editor, or is there another (better) way? (
   e.g., somehow uploading the file directly). Maybe I didn’t search very well but
   I couldn’t find anything in the documentation on this. Thanks very much.

 * yup…cutting and pasting
 * Unless your editor of choice allows remote publishing
 * But there is no file to upload. WP doesn’t make files from your posts and pages.
   It simply takes everything you enter and stores it into the appropriate database
   locations in mySQL, the database that runs your WP install.

 * You are a paradox. Blogging with emacs is very geeky, but you haven’t figure
   out how to use Google yet. :!-)

 * But I doubt very much that you really want to do that.

 * [@graq](https://wordpress.org/support/users/graq/): I did Google it, but it didn’t
   occur to me that there might be an Emacs-specific solution, so I was doing searches
   like “WordPress post from your own text editor”, with no luck. Anyway, thanks
   to both of you for your replies. I’ll check out weblogger.el, but probably stick
   to simple cutting and pasting until I become more familiar with WordPress.
