Conditionally display attribute value

I want to display a link to a file in a list of past events, so visitors can download the presentation slides. The value will be an href for an tag. I don’t want to display the link text “Download” and tag if the attribute is blank. Is there a direct way to do this, or do I need to do some customizing?
