config.php file

    I just installed WordPress on my site using Fantastico and thought I was then suppose to change the sample config.php file to wp-config.php but that file already exists along with my user name and a password that I never created.
    Does Fantastico do all that for you so I can skip this step?
    I’m quite confused.

    Hello sheryltoo, when you install wordpress through fantastico you are suppose to create a user name and a password for your database or else you won’t be able to install wordpress through fantastico. All this is done while you are installing wordpress. Also make a note of the user name and password. I usually get the details sent to my e-mail address as a back up 🙂 In regards to the api key, are you creating an account with wordpress.com?

    mbrsolution, you’re too quick, lol. I figured out the api key.
    I do have the user name and password that I created and Fantastico created my database for me but they didn’t let me create a password for the database. Is that ok?
    And am I all set with the wp-config.php file? I just keep the one that was created through Fantastico?

    Hi sheryltoo,

    Fantastico creates everything you need to get WordPress up and running. You do not need to configure anything manually when using Fantastico de Luxe.
