    Hi there

I’ve installed and activated Yoast SEO onto my WordPress site, however it does not want to open the Configuration Wizard. It gives me the following error message: “The configuration wizard could not be started. The likely cause is an interfering plugin. Please check for plugin conflicts to solve this problem.”

I’ve tried installing the Health Check plugin to check for plugin conflicts and it seems that the plugins aren’t the problem. I’m still receiving that error message.

Any assistance / recommendations would be highly appreciated as I’m currently all out of options on how to resolve this issue.

Can you confirm you have WordPress 4.9.8 and Yoast SEO for WordPress 8.4 as well as the latest versions of your plugins and themes?

Have you tried performing the conflict check with the Health Check plugin? If you were to enable troubleshooting mode, deactivate all non-Yoast plugins, and switch to a default theme such as 2017, are you then able to perform the configuration wizard?

Yes, I do have WordPress 4.9.8 and Yoast SEO for WordPress 8.4. I also have the latest versions of my plugins and themes.

I’ve already tried performing the conflict check with the Health Check plugin, deactivated all non-Yoast plugins and switched to default theme. However, I’m still unable to perform the configuration wizard.

I’ve noticed that this is our second website that’s not able to perform the Yoast SEO configuration wizard. I’m not sure what the cause could be.

Please check the browser console for JavaScript errors on the configuration wizard page.

How to find JavaScript errors with your browsers console?

@amboutwe I’ve done what you mentioned and this is what comes up in red in the browser console:
“Failed to load https://zcreations.co.za/wp-json/yoast/v1/configurator: Request header field X-WP-Nonce is not allowed by Access-Control-Allow-Headers in preflight response.”

This error typically occurs when the WordPress and/or site URL do not match the URL loading the configuration wizard. Commonly due to an http vs https or www vs non-www mismatch.

Please check if the following begin with https://zcreations.co.za:
Admin > Settings > General : WordPress URL
Admin > Settings > General : Site URL

Closed due to lack of activity.

I am having the same error in my site!! I just started this site so it is completely new with latest WordPress version and latest PHP.
