Somebody help me, please? Thanks
Hi @cardozoadvocacia
Thanks for reaching out, and I’m sorry you’re having trouble connecting your social media accounts.
We took a closer look and can see that Jetpack isn’t fully connected to your site at the moment. Specifically, we’re seeing a 405 Not Allowed error when trying to access your site’s xmlrpc.php file. Jetpack uses that file to communicate with your site—so when it’s blocked or misconfigured, features like social media connections and the activity log won’t work properly.
To fix this, we recommend reaching out to your hosting provider and asking them to:
- Ensure that the
xmlrpc.php file is accessible and can accept POST requests.
- Confirm that nothing on the server (like a firewall or security plugin) is blocking Jetpack’s requests.
Once that’s resolved, Jetpack should be able to reconnect fully and social sharing should start working again.
Let us know if you’d like help checking the connection after your host makes the update—we’re happy to assist!
Hi there, @cardozoadvocacia,
Do you have updates about that, do you still need help? We usually close inactive threads after one week of no movement, but we want to make sure we’re all set before marking it as solved. Thanks!
Hi! Everbody
The WP Panel diagnostics section displays a 200 connection error with Jetpack.
However, the Jetpack tab appears to be connecting normally.
Regarding the XML-RPC plugin, the “Enable XML-RPC for Jetpack” option was enabled and the addresses were entered in the Jetpack server whitelist.
Jetpack reference whitepaper: https://jetpack.com/support/how-to-add-jetpack-ips-allowlist/
The only detail I didn’t do, as I’m not sure if it’s necessary, is to add the IP address list to the Jetpack IPs section on CloudFront.
Could you please check?
Thank you.
Hi @cardozoadvocacia,
Thank you for your response. From what I can see, XMLRPC is still blocked on your site (I’m seeing a 403 Forbidden error when trying to access it in the browser. Looking closer, noticed a plugin active on your site with the slug disable-xml-rpc-api. In order to connect, Jetpack needs to access this specific file on your site, XMLRPC. If you intentionally disabled access to that file, I’m afraid Jetpack will not be able to connect and auto-share your posts. I’d recommend checking this doc where we explain how Jetpack works with XMLRPC:
https://jetpack.com/support/jetpack-and-xml-rpc
I hope this helps but if you have any questions, please let us know.
Best regards,
Alin
