Hi team,

I’m trying to connect a website to wordfence but getting the error ‘Unable to communicate with Wordfence plugin. Please verify Wordfence is installed and activated on this site.’

Wordpress and Wordfence are both updated. Tried troubleshooting suggestions but no luck.

Hi @lisapearsonnz

You are blocking access, with a 403 Forbidden response status code, to these URL’s below which will prevent the Wordfence Central tool in your wordfence.com account from being able to communicate with the Wordfence plugin on your website:

Had a look at the .htaccess file, and the <Files> tags were missing for the deny/allow IP addresses. Added these in and worked perfectly.
